Chapter 25

Time seemed to slow down. Days seemed longer. Nights, I struggled to sleep after sleeping with him most nights leading up to my birthday.

Days I spent with dad training. Weekends I spent at Cassian's pack with my friends and his mate. Who i’ve been trying to convince to actually give him a chance. I know it is taking a toll on him.

We painted, hunted, and swam quite often; just enjoying eachothers company. Always laughing at our stupid jokes. Before I even knew it, it was graduation day. The pretty dress that Ila had bought me for graduation was unbelievable. It was simple yet so beautiful. It was a lilac A line wrap dress that laid mid thighs. She bought me matching strappy heels as well.

Waking up that morning was bitter sweet. I had my room nearly all packed except the things I am leaving there. I sat on my bed for 30 minutes just looking around. I was half naked, because I got so hot last night and couldn’t sleep with clothes on or the blankets.

I had this throbbing down in my core. I couldn’t stop the heat. It wouldn’t go away. I turned on the cold water and just sat on the shower floor letting the cold water cascade on top of me. It helped a bit but it was still there.

I groaned loudly. Everything on my body is sensitive and hot. I couldn’t stand this as it was getting hotter and hotter. My body can’t take much more. My wolf is pacing in my head whimpering for her mate. Who is nowhere to be found.

“MOM” I growled out very loudly yelling for her. I could hear her feet springing down the hallway before my door busted open.

“Oh baby girl,” she said, coming and trying to wrap her arms around me. But my body couldn’t stand her touch. I hissed at the burning sensation her arms gave me.

“You’re in Heat!” she said looking around the room with her nose in the air. “Where is your mate?” she asked, trying to pull me out of the shower.

“Help me momma” I begged, hugging my knees to my chest.

“I wish I could baby. But the only one who can help you is your mate” She whispered. She grabbed my phone near the bed and searched for Malachai's number in my phone.

Dialing it and standing at the door of the bathroom. “Little Mate” He answered the phone.

“This is Estelle. You need to get here now” Mom growled out. The last time I saw her this mad, she tore out this woman's throat who hurt me.

“ON MY WAY” he didn’t bother saying anything else. Just hung up.

“He’ll be here soon baby” Mom said sitting on the toilet.

“Please” I needed this to go away. I groaned again. In 15 minutes flat I heard his loud footsteps stomping his way up the stairs before his heavenly scent wafted to my nose. He smelt better than he ever has before. It was as if I was starving and he was the deer I have been hunting for days.
